CANOA AVENTURA TOURS - ARENAL, LA FORTUNA - COSTA RICA

Our specialty is combining paddling with an immersion into the natural Costa Rican environment. We have been guiding birding trips since 1991 throughout northern Costa Rica and since 1997 canoe trips in Costa Rica, Vermont USA, Canada and Nicaragua. All our guides are naturalists - as well as paddling guides. They share insight into the natural history of this beautiful country and give canoe and safety instructions. Beginners can enjoy all our trips. We also can tailor certain trips for the more adventures.

Our canoes are quiet & non-intrusive. They carry us into otherwise inaccessible areas and allow us to approach many animals including monkeys, crocodiles, and three-toed sloth's, along with many species of tropical birds. The rivers lead us through the splendour of the rainforest, rich in ancient trees, delicate orchids and brilliant bromeliads. Join us and leave the pressures and noise of civilization behind.

 

Canoa Aventura is a company that profits from nature, but at the same time respects and protects it. We love the contact to people and are happy to show them the culture, the history and the immense variety of animals and plants of our country. We do our best, so YOU can enjoy the time with us in a secure and educative way.

Our team consists of 19 employees. In our main office in Fortuna are 14 persons working, covering management, reception, bookkeeping, reservations, marketing, tours, transportation and maintenance. In Caño Negro we have 5 employees taking care of our restaurant “El Caiman” and the tours. They are the head of the restaurant, waiters, cook and the captain of the boat for the “Real Caño Negro Tour”.
